Jacob Brown Meets Rob Pannell

Most of you probably have already read about Jacob Brown (full story here), the sophomore football and lacrosse player at Brookwood High School. In case you have not heard about Jacob, here's a short recap: in November, Jacob started his first ever varsity football game for the Broncos. According to the coaches, he had an amazing game. The next night, Jacob's mom, Tiesha, lost her battle with cancer. Jacob, his two sisters (Leah and Mya), and his dad (Keith) have gone through some very tough times over the past few months, but Saturday was a day that they will never forget.

When we received Jacob's nominee form, we found out that Jacob's favorite athlete is professional lacrosse player, Rob Pannell.

For anyone unfamiliar with Rob, here are some of his career accomplishments: scoring the second most points in NCAA history while he was at Cornell, the 2013 Tewaaraton Trophy, 3x Ivy League player of the tear, 4x First Team All-Ivy League, ESPY Nominee for Best Collegiate Athlete, Single Season MLL Points Record, MLL Rookie of the Year, MLL Offensive Player of the Year, 4x MLL All-Star, 3x MLL All-Pro, member of Team USA, and much more.

We immediately reached out to Rob to see if there is anything he could help us with, and he replied saying he would love to help. Our ultimate goal was to give Jacob the opportunity to meet Rob, and that came true this weekend.

Rob informed us that he would be in Atlanta this weekend helping out with a lacrosse clinic. He said he would love to meet Jacob, hang out with him, and even show him some tips and pointers!

Jacob has definitely been through hard times, so Rob's generosity and kindness was much needed. The huge smile on Jacob's face stayed there throughout the entire day!

We capped off the lacrosse-filled Saturday by attending a Georgia Swarm game with Jacob and his dad! It was awesome to spend a day learning more about the game while spending time with Jacob and his family.

We want to give a huge shoutout to Rob Pannell and Kylie Ohlmiller (professional lacrosse player) for spending time with Jacob! We also want to thank the Georgia Swarm for hooking us up with tickets to their game against Buffalo.
